Leaving Tonight!

The day has come–we leave Madison tonight at 2am! We are all excited about what God has in store for us this next week.

I had the chance to go to Honduras last year, and tour AFE, the ministry we will be partnering with. Here is a picture of the soccer field where it all started:

The city dump is off in the distance to the left, and we will be building a house in a neighborhood off to the right. AFE’s facilities are behind where I took this picture. They are doing fantastic work in Tegucigulpa. Check out their website here: http://www.afehonduras.org/

I’m also looking forward to seeing Pastor Luis and his family in Honduras. They are faithful servants in Orica. Men from the church in Orica will be joining us to build the house in Tegucigulpa. Here’s a picture of Luis, his wife Italia, and their son, Daniel.

We are grateful for this opportunity. Pray for us!

One week

Things are cranking up as we zero in on departure in one week from tonight.  Please pray for our team and our partners in Honduras.  We will be embarking on an adventure we have never attempted before by combining our team with a team of men from Alpha y Omega to build a home for a family that works in the dump in Tegucigalpa.  We also will be doing some other projects with AFE ,the organization that provides these homes, as well as schooling for the children, medical help and spiritual encouragement.

Our goal is to help out AFE and their ministry, encourage our brothers in Christ at the church in Orica, and learn how we can better serve the Lord.

Please pray for our safety, our relationships with the Hondurans, and our ability to accomplish tasks while building each other up in the faith.
